Swim Meet Checklist
Beside ensuring my swimmer(s) are at the meet at the designated times, what else should I bring to the swim meets?
- The first an most item for both parents and swimmers is to bring a positive attitude and good sportsmanship. The true measure of our success will be how our team is perceived by those we compete against
- Chairs for parents to sit in (folding are the best)
- Swim suits and Goggles (good idea to bring a back-up pair as well)
- Swim cap
- 2 Towels (one for use during the meet and one for after the meet)
- Water bottle - it’s the summer and it will likely be out there. It’s important to stay hydrated!
- Snacks* – although most pools will have concession stands, it is a good idea to bring healthier options (apples, oranges, granola bars, etc.) for your kids as well
- Something to do -- games, cards, books, coloring books. We highly discourage anyone bringing any items that they (or you) would be sad (or angry!) if they became lost, such as electronics etc.
- Bug spray
- Sunscreen but don't put on the arm that has your name or meet entries
Its a good idea to write you name on everything you bring. Especially clothing and towels. You may also want to make a departure checklist to make sure you have everything as you are leaving the meet.
